Master Sushi Chef Sayam invites you to experience his Emerald Coast sushi where each dish is created with heart, passion, and love by a true Master.
A native of Panama City Beach, Florida, Chef Sayam found his calling after serving in the Navy. He enrolled in the renowned Johnson and Wales College of Culinary Arts in North Carolina as well as Brown University, embracing his new career with passion. Upon graduation, he worked alongside legendary Sushi Master Chef “Iron Chef” Masaharu Morimoto at Nobu, in New York City. Iron Chef Morimoto invited Chef Sayam to join him at Tsukiji Restaurant in Osaka, Japan to perfect his skills in the art of sushi. He later returned to school to further his education, receiving an MBA.
Over the years, he has been a consultant to countless restaurants and has owned three of his own Sushi restaurants. In February 2006, he was named Chef of the Year. He now brings to Destin, Florida his exquisite palate and creativity, believing the most flavorful cuisine is made simply using the best, highest quality products. As a Master, he understands how fish is sliced, seasoned, and formed depends upon the fat content and texture of each individual species. Chef Sayam creates his own fresh sauces to enhance the presentation and flavor of his sushi. Perfect rice requires that every element in the process be meticulous, from the seasonality of rice crops to the atmospheric pressure that day. It is his passion to inspire and educate guests about the joys of fine cuisine.
